I used to teach English to middle schoolers, and some of the faces you see here are my beloved former students. Seeing and working with them again in this creative capacity has been surreal. These are the fearless faces of people ready to conquer the world.
At every family session, my first task is to earn the trust of the youngest person in the group. Once the kids are comfortable, we start.
In the earliest days of parenthood, everything feels so miraculous, fragile and intense. It's as though we live in a safe, dark little cave with our babies for the first few months, marveling at each other and figuring each other out. As they grow, they start to show us these incredible changes in personality, and the mood shifts as we start to feel like more competent parents. We step out of the cave and into the light.
Food is one of the most seductive art forms there is. The colors flirt; the textures make promises. May they come true.
The beauty of the world is endless (but you don't need to travel to know that).
